5-MINUTE PEANUT SAUCE

Peanut sauce is no longer tied to one cuisine or one kind of dish. What’s changed is how it’s used. Instead of living only as a dip or a takeout-style sauce, leaning almost always to Asian cookery, it has moved into everyday condiment, a flexible, savoury emulsion built for wide use. Made with our fresh EVOOs and balanced with Honey Ginger balsamic, our 5-minute sauce is designed to be used often, not saved for one cuisine. Think of this sauce, or dressing, like adding peanut butter to a sensational vinaigrette. You can actually change the flavour by changing the infused balsamic. We think our Rosés would be ones to try, too.

Spoon it over roasted vegetables. Use it as a dressing for cabbage, carrots, or greens. Drizzle on roasted squash or sweet potatoes. Eggs will love you for it. And burgers, too. It can even wow your Hawaiian Pizza. Once you start using it new ways, it becomes a pantry staple you'll reach for again and again.

Before starting this very simple blended sauce, be flexible. Want more heat, add more Cayenne EVOO. More garlic, add it, too. Need a thinner consistency, a bit more water will do the trick. Taste as you go and adjust.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tbsp Honey Ginger balsamic
  • 2 tsp Tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Garlic EVOO
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne EVOO
  • 2 tbsp EVOO
  • 1/4 cup creamy store-bought peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • Optional: Substitute Honey Ginger with Lemon, Grapefruit, Peach, or any Rosé balsamic
DIRECTIONS:
Place balsamic and soy in bowl or blender. An immersion blender works, too. Whisk or pulse to combine. Add peanut butter, EVOOs Sesame oil and water. Combine until creamy. The consistency should be closer to a smooth sauce than a stiff dip. For thinner sauce, slowly add more water a teaspoon at a time.
