Elderflowers are the delicate clusters of cream-coloured blossoms on elderberry shrubs or small trees. They burst into flower in late spring and have a short season - usually no more than a few weeks. Our Elderflower ultra premium white balsamic adds a soft honey-scented freshness to drinks and dressings. A special addition to bar or pantry. Elderflower is a particularly wonderful pairing with citrus fruits and berries.
THE PERFECT ELDERFLOWER COCKTAIL:
"1" Part Elderflower Balsamic
For the designated cocktail maker, a sensational drink asks for a sensational recipe. Balance is key. Not too sweet. Not too acidic. The magic is found in balancing the two. Most classic cocktails share one thing in common: a ratio of 1 part sour, 1 part sweet and 2 parts alcohol.
Simple recipes, exquisite cocktails!
For a classic Italian soda mocktail, simply add 1 teaspoon of Elderflower white balsamic and 1 tsp Sicilian Lemon in a glass with ice. Then pour soda or sparkling water. Mix well. For a cocktail, replace sparkling water with gin or vodka.
After citrus, berries are perhaps the most perfect fruit for Elderflower cocktail or mocktail: they're tart and sweet, and tend to lend full flavour. Simply add 1 teaspoon of Elderflower white balsamic and 1 tsp Raspberry white balsamic in a glass with ice. Then pour soda or sparkling water. Mix well. For a cocktail, replace sparkling water with gin or vodka.
The classic elderflower cocktail is named the Hugo Spritz, a popular apertivo in Northern Italy.
