Best in snack category! It's tough to beat this one. Bacon, maple and spicy smoky chipotle. A great weekend treat or part of a sports buffet. A wonderful, whimsical way to treat your guests. Making candied bacon is one of those a-ha moments—why didn't I ever do this before? The magic happens in the oven and only takes half an hour. Eat it as is, crumble it over salad, or use it to garnish a Bloody Mary. We don't need to tell you what to do with bacon, right?

SERVES: 6 to 8
INGREDIENTS:
20 bacon strips (thick cut is better)
2 to 3 tbsp Maple dark balsamic
2 to 3 tbsp Chipotle olive oil (or less for reduced heat)

DIRECTIONS:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. On a rimmed baking sheet place a cooling rack. Place bacon strips individually on the rack. In a small bowl whisk together the balsamic and olive oil until blended. Brush both sides with the mixture. Place in heated oven until crisp.
