Little bundles of just-picked garlicky fresh asparagus, wrapped in crispy bacon, glazed in a brushing of silky Maple balsamic.
SERVES: 2 to 4 INGREDIENTS: 2 tbsp Garlic olive oil 1 lb (16+ spears) fresh asparagus 4 tbsp Maple dark balsamic Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS: Remove ends from asparagus. On a large rimmed sheet, lay out 4 slices of bacon. Then lay out 4 to 6 stalks of asparagus in the center of each strip of bacon. Drizzle Garlic oil over each bundle. Wrap bacon around the stalks and secure with a toothpick. Place asparagus bundles on baking sheet and bake at 400° for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Drizzle Maple balsamic on bundles. Return to oven and broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until asparagus is tender and bacon is crisp. Serve with toasted farm-style bread. Have extra Garlic oil and Maple balsamic on hand before serving and for bread dipping.
