A Toast To The Cozy Comfort Of Warming Drinks

This winter get ready for another round of "shrub" drinks. Artisanal bartenders add the centuries-old syrup of concentrated fruits, herbs and vinegar to their drinks. Our barrel-aged balsamics are an ideal sweet-sour replacement for those hard to find, and hard to make shrubs with no need to add any extra sweetener.

A bartender's classic shrub cocktail is made with a ratio of 1 part sour, 1 part sweet and 2 parts alcohol. Our infused balsamics replace both sweet and sour ingredients, resulting in 1 part balsamic to 1 part alcohol. For sparkling water mocktails or craft beers, a generous splash added to your glass will do. And for a salty, savoury kick, we encourage you to rim your glasses with our hand-harvested sea salts.

THE RYE BOULEVARDIER
You'll need a shaker for this one. Add 2 ounces Traditional (18-year-old) balsamic, 2 ounces sweet vermouth, 2 ounces rye and ice. Shake well, then pour into martini glasses.

FIG & WHISKEY COCKTAILPlace 1 ounce of our Black Mission Fig balsamic in your best glass. Add ice, then add 1 ounce of your favourite whiskey (bourbon or rye). Stir well. Sip well.

THE MARVELOUS MOCKTAIL

The variations are endless. For a classic Italian soda, simply add 2 teaspoons of any one of our white or dark balsamics to ice. Then pour soda or sparkling water. Mix well. Shown above is our Pomegranate Quince white balsamic with club soda.

PEACH BRANDY COCKTAIL
How easy can it get? A luscious aged brandy and a splash of Peach white balsamic. A sprig of rosemary is an exquisite savoury garnish.

THE FRUITY CRAFT BEER
What would a holiday celebration be without beer. Taking it to a whole new level, brewmasters across the country have started infusing their beer with fruits. And you can, too. Just pour 2 teaspoons of your pick of our fruity balsamics in the bottom of a beer glass and then pour in your best craft beer and you'll be rewarded with a tart, slightly sweet drink.

POMEGRANATE OLD FASHIONED
Canadian rye whiskey is having a moment. Place 1 tablespoon Pomegranate Dark balsamic in glass. Throw in some ice and then add you whiskey, a splash of water. Optional: 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Stir or shake well. Garnish with sprig of rosemary.

CUBA LIBRE: COCONUT TWIST
(aka Rum & Coke)
Coconut. It's a prized ingredient in countless tropical cocktails. And now that we're in the middle of winter it's a wonderful time to add a teaspoon of our Coconut infusion to your classic Rum & Coke. Yum!

VERY BERRY TEAMake yourself a hot cup of your favourite tea. Pour in mug or tea cup then add a teaspoon of one of our Berry dark balsamics: Blueberry, Strawberry, Raspberry or Blackberry.
